Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition comprising a specific resin (mixture) and a rosin (ester), excellent in melt flowability, moldability and heat resistance, and useful for moldings requiring good rigidity, heat resistance and dimensional stability, such as automotive parts and electronic or electric parts.
SOLUTION: This resin composition comprises (A) 1-100 pts.wt. of a polyphenylene ether resin such as a polymer of the formula [R1-R4 are each H, an alkyl, an alkoxy, a halogen, phenyl; (n) is a polymerization degree,] (B) 99-0 pts.wt. of a polystyrene resin, and (C) (C1) a purified stable rosin having a Gardner color scale of ≤2, especially ≤1, or (C2) a rosin ester compound obtained from the component C1 and an alcohol compound or epoxy compound (e.g. having an aromatic ring) preferably in an amount of 0.1-50 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the total amount of the components A and B.
