To provide a polypropylene resin and a resin composition with good film forming properties and suitable for manufacturing a film excellent in transparency, and a cast film made of the same.

The polypropylene resin contains a propylene-based polymer and, therein, the melt flow rate is 3-15 (g/10 minutes), the ratio (Mw/Mn) of weight average molecular weight (Mw) to number average molecular weight (Mn) is 2.0-4.5, and the crystalization time measured by a deflection free method at 115°C is 100-600 sec. It is preferable that the propylene-based polymer is a propylene homopolymer or a propylene-α-olefin copolymer. Better film formation is achieved by using a composition comprising 85-98 wt.% of the polypropylene resin and 2-15 wt.% of a low density polyethylene or polypropylene.
