In the manufacturing method of the polyrotaxane in which an axial molecule penetrates through the opening section of a ring component and which has block groups formed by a capping agent at both terminals of the axial molecule, both the axial molecule and the capping agent are set to react to be bonded by urea bonds. Specifically, an isocyanate group and an amine group are combined; for example, an axial molecule having an amine as a terminal functional group and a capping agent which is selected from isocyanates are reacted.
