Abstract:

To provide a polysaccharide derivative having excellent treatability at a low temperature, and useful as a thickener exhibiting sufficient thickening properties at a high temperature and an emulsifier or the like having excellent emulsifying activities.

The polysaccharide derivative is obtained by substituting a part or the whole of hydrogen atoms of hydroxy groups in a polysaccharide or a derivative thereof with specific groups containing hydrocarbon groups having polyoxyalkylene groups and steroid skeletons.
