Abstract:

PURPOSE: To inexpensively obtain the new compound useful as a photoconductive material used for electrophotographic photoreceptor and capable of givng photoreceptors excellent in photosensitive characteristics and large in strengths against heat and mechanical impact.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I (R is an alkyl, phenyl; X is a single bond, O, etc.; Ar1 is an arylene; Ar2, Ar3 are an aryl; (n) is 2-20; (l) is a degree of polymerization). The compound is obtained by reacting a polysloxane compound of formula II such as poly(hedrogenmethylsiloxane) with an alkenyl compound of formula III such as 3-[4'-bis(4-methylphenylamino)biphenyl-4-oxy]-1- propene in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst such as platinum. The reaction is performed in a solvent such as benzene in an inert gas atmosphere at 40-120°C. The catalyst is preferably used in an amount of 1/100 to 1/1000 equivalent based on the alkenyl compound of formula III.
