Abstract:

To provide polyurethane foam to be used as a carrier for water treatment, which has excellent hydrophilicity and allows the water contacted therewith to be restrained from being increased in COD.

The polyurethane foam to be used as the carrier for water treatment is produced by using a polyurethane foam raw material containing difunctional polyalkylene oxide polyol-containing polyol, polyisocyanate, a foaming agent, a foam controlling agent, a catalyst and a cross-linking agent. A polyalkylene oxide part of the polyalkylene oxide polyol contains 40-85 mol% ethylene oxide-derived unit and the polyurethane foam raw material has 105-125 isocyanate index.
