Abstract:

To provide polyurethane foam used in a water treatment carrier excellent in hydrophilicity and abrasion resistance and suppressing an increase in COD of water after the contact with water.

The polyurethane foam used in the water treatment carrier is minufactured using a foam raw material containing a foam stabilizer, which contains polyol, polyisocyanate, a foaming agent and a polyorganosiloxane-polyether block copolymer having a structure wherein a polyether part is bonded through one or more CH2groups from the Si atom of a polyorganosiloxane part, a catalyst and a compound represented by the general formula :R-O-(AO)n-H (wherein R is a hydrocarbon group, AO is a 2-4C oxyalkylene group and may be same or different and n is an average addition number of moles and an integer of 2-50).
