To increase a surface area in a porous ceramic body while preventing hardness of the porous ceramic body from being degraded.SOLUTION: A porous ceramic body has a plurality of specific pores in at least one specific cross section thereof. In each of the specific pores, an aspect ratio, the ratio of a length in a second direction orthogonal to a first direction to a length in the first direction, is more than 1.
