Title:
POROUS ELECTRODE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60163376
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase wettability to electrolyte by melt-bonding a specific copolymer to both ends, parallel to reaction gas supply path, of a base body, and by heat-pressing a material which is wettable to electrolyte and stable to heat and chemical resistant to the melt-bonding part.

CONSTITUTION: A melt-bonding part 17 comprising copolymer PTA of tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkylvinylether is formed at each end of electrodes 1 and 3. The melt-bonding part 17 is formed at each end 7 and 7 which is parallel to reaction gas supply path 5 in the electrode 1, and at each end 8 and 8 which is parallel to reaction gas supply paths 6 installed on stacked element 4 in the thin electrode 3. A thermo-bonding material 18 comprising carbon powder which is wettable to electrolyte, stable to heat, and chemical resistant is press-bonded on the surface of the melt-bonding part 17 on the opposite side of the surface having gas supply paths, or on the opposite side of the surface which is in contact with reaction gas supply paths in stacking. Thereby, wettability to electrolyte is increased, and peeling off of coated film and leakage of reaction gas are prevented.
