To provide porous silica aggregate particles which are excellent in absorption amount and absorption speed of water, an organic solvent, ink or the like by controlling the pore size, the pore volume, the shape and the particle size of the silica primary particles and which have a high evaporation speed.
The porous silica aggregate particles are one that are obtained by aggregating porous silica spherical primary particles which exhibit an X-ray diffraction pattern having one or more diffraction lines in a range of diffraction angle (2/) corresponding to a lattice spacing (d) of at least 1 nm, wherein pores are formed in the porous silica spherical primary particles and void layers are formed in the gaps between these porous silica spherical primary particles.
