To provide a portable communication apparatus in which power required for notifying an emergency is ensured when an operator has to notify the emergency and emergency information can be surely transmitted.
While the operating mode of a portable communication apparatus is set to an ordinary mode, utilization of power of a standby power supply is prohibited but while the operating mode is set to an emergency mode, emergency control operation is executed in which power of a main power supply and the auxiliary power source is utilized by putting a high priority on the power of the main power supply, a location is detected by a location detection means and emergency information containing at least the detected location is transmitted by a transmission means.
