To dry a wet handkerchief and the like while putting them in a sealed housing device by combining a sheet type desiccant and a portable housing device.

A reproducable sheet type desiccant 1, capable of covering both surfaces of a handkerchief 3 or the like carried usually under a condition that the same is folded, is put in an openable portable housing device 2 made of vinyl or the like. Before using, the sheet type desiccant 1 is dried previously to enter the portable housing device 2 and the device is sealed so that the drying effect of the desiccant will not be deteriorated by absorbing moisture in air. Then, the handkerchief 3, wetted by using, is entered the portable housing device 2 under a condition that the same is pinched by the sheet type desiccant 1 in the device 2. Thereafter, the drying agent absorbs moisture by sealing the handkerchief in the portable housing device 2 and the wetted handkerchief 3 is dried simply due to the absorption of moisture through the desiccant by sealing the portable housing device 2. When air in the device is forced out upon sealing, the drying of the handkerchief 3 can be expedited.
