To provide a portable electronic device single body dispensing with looking around for a fuel supplying place by a user when a fuel becomes deficient.

This portable electronic device is equipped with a CPU 41, a fuel container 12 for storing the fuel, a residual amount measuring device 13 for measuring the residual amount of the fuel, an HDD 44 storing map data, and a GPS unit 47 for detecting the present position. The CPU 41 retrieves a route from the present position detected by the GPS unit 47 to the fuel supplying place from route information in the map data stored in the HDD 44 and position information, and informs of the route to the retrieved fuel supplying place by display on a display device 7 or by voice output from a speaker 9. In this case, when informing of the route, the CPU 41 overlaps the retrieved route on the map stored in the HDD, and displays the map and the retrieved route overlapped together on the display device 7.
