To provide a mobile electronic apparatus capable of limiting function without fail when the mobile electronic apparatus is left behind or stolen so long as power remains in at least an apparatus main body so as to be able to prevent illegitimate use and protect personal information or the like.

When recognizing that a strap attaching/detaching button of an operation section 45 is depressed and an RFID pin is attached/detached, a control section 41 starts an RFID reader 53. When the strap having the RFID pin is attached to/detached from a housing, the RFID reader 53 electromagnetically supplies power to the RFID pin and reads identification information from the RFID pin. When the control section 41 is failed to authenticate the RFID, the control section 41 limits prescribed functions of the electronic apparatus, in particular, functions associated with illegitimate use and protection of personal information.
