Title:
PORTABLE ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT HAVING HANDWRITING CHARACTER RECOGNIZING FUNCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001216472
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To solve a problem that an entry except for a character written by one stroke is difficult and the entry of HIRAGANA or KANJI is difficult since the position of the tip of a pen can not be recognized when a track ball is temporarily separated from a plane since a moving track is detected form the direction and moving distance of the track ball at the tip of the pen rotated and moved in contact with the plane concerning portable electronic equipment with built-in handwriting character recognizing function using the track ball.

A range designate key is provided and only when the track ball is moved while pressing the range designate key, the moving track is displayed but when the track ball is moved without pressing the range designate key, the moving track is not displayed. Then, only the displayed moving track is defined as a recognition object. Further, plural characters or the like corresponding to that object are displayed as candidates and by selecting any one of them, the input of a character such as HIRAGANA or KANJI, which can not be written by one stroke, is facilitated.
