An electroic news paper reader body 11 is thinly constituted and a secondary battery 14 requiring prescribed capacity is thickly constituted. The battery 14 is attachably/detachably fitted to the carrying side of the body 11 and a level difference d3 is formed so as to be constituted of the body 11 and the battery 14. Since a user can carry an electronic news paper reader 5 by holding the level difference d3 with his (or her) fingers, a portable electronic publication display device prevented from being slipped off and allowed to be easily carried can be obtained. Since the C side of the body 11 is light and the B side on which the battery 14 is fitted is heavy, rotational force D applied when the B side is carried is reduced, so that the body 11 can be carried by small power.
