When the operator of a portable telephone set 1A enters the telephone box main body 11 subjected to electromagnetic shield and makes a phone call, the portable telephone set 1A sets up a speech via a public telephone line 31 through radio transmission/reception with a radio transmission reception circuit 33c in a stationary device section 30A. Since an electromagnetic wave from the mobile phone 1A is not sent to the outside of the electromagnetic shield, no adverse effects from the electromagnetic waves are given to the outside of the telephone box main body 11.
