To provide a portable telephone set enabling a user to recognize residual time available for communication, without confirming the residual communication time shown on a display by preventing talk from being disconnected without a user being aware of the communication time warning showing that the residual communication time are small and also visually recognizing warning notification even in a warning state.

This portable telephone set is provided with a memory 103 storing residual communication time, warning frequencies and frequency count information transmitted from a base station, a frequency arithmetic circuit 106 which subtracts the time count information from the residual communication time during speech communication and decides whether or not the residual communication time based on the subtraction reach the warning time and a control system circuit 105 which performs warning with a warning notifying circuit 107 when the circuit 106 decides that the residual communication time reach the warning time.
