To provide a portable telephone set which can more effectively decrease an electromagnetic energy absorption caused by a human body at the time of using the portable telephone set.
A portable telephone set 101 comprises an antenna 1; a mouthpiece 6; a transmission circuit for modulating a first speech signal to generate a first wireless signal for transmitting; a reception circuit for demodulating a second wireless signal input to the antenna 1 to regenerate a second speech signal; an earpiece 9 for outputting a sound corresponding to the second speech signal; a printed circuit board 5 on which the reception circuit and a transmission circuit are mounted; a shield case 4 which encloses the printed circuit board 5 so as to suppress electromagnetic interference between the printed circuit board 5 and the antenna 1; a case body 10 for storing the shield case 4, etc.; an electromagnetic waves absorption layer 11 which contains a magnetic loss material formed in at least a part between the shield case 4 and the case body 10; and an electromagnetic waves reflection layer 12 which contains a magnetic reflection material formed between the case body 10 and the electromagnetic waves absorption layer 11.
