To provide a portable terminal device, a charger and a charging system for reducing the possibility of the illicit usage of the portable terminal device by others who are not true users of the portable terminal device.
A CPU 16 of a portable terminal device 10 performs operation for acquiring identification data for authentication from a memory 34 of a charger 30, when the portable terminal device 10 is electrically connected with the charger 30. When identification data for authentication are acquired, the identification data for authentication is compared with terminal device data stored in a memory 18. When the identification data for authentication and the terminal device data agree with each other, a switch 19 is so controlled that power is fed from the charger 30 to a rechargeable battery 20. When the identification data for authentication and the terminal device data do not agree with each other and the identification data for authentication cannot be acquired, the switch 19 is so controlled that power feeding is cut off from the charger 30 to the rechargeable battery 20.
