To improve efficiency of calibration operation of a machining shaft position of a machining head.
An apparatus 10 for position calibration of a machining head is provided with a means 30 for obtaining stage position information which obtains positional relation of a camera 20 and a stage 14 by allowing the camera 20 at a known position relative to a base 22 to image a mark 28 on a stage side, a mark drawing means 32 on a workpiece side for making the machining head 18 draw a mark on the workpiece side on a workpiece, a means 34 for obtaining position information of the machining head which obtains positional relation of the camera 20 and the machining shaft of the machining head 18 by allowing the camera 20 to image the mark on the workpiece side, and a means 36 for obtaining position information of the stage machining head which obtains positional relation of the stage 14 and the machining shaft based on the positional relation of the camera 20 and the stage 14 and the positional relation between the camera 20 and the machining shaft.
