To make a car position detector for an elevator capable of installation even in a narrow hoistway, by easily installing and adjusting the car position detector and easily confirming its action.

Position detectors 5a, 5b capable of opening/closing a door are installed in an upper part of a door device 3 in a side of a car 2, a detected part 6a of the detector is installed in an upper part of a door device 4 in a landing side. Floor position deviation detectors 5c, 5d are installed in an upper part of the door device 3 in a side of the car 2, a detected part 6b of the detector is installed in an upper-part of the door device 4 in the landing side. In both the detectors 5a to 5d, dimension of a height respectively from a floor surface of the car 2 and a landing floor surface is fixed.
