Abstract:
To provide a position detection device which, when detecting the position of a vehicle while changing position detection means to be used, can mitigate variation in the detection value of a vehicle position due to the change of a position detection method.SOLUTION: When the alignment of a vehicle is performed with respect to a prescribed target position, a position detection device for detecting the position of the vehicle uses only first position detection means (means B) to detect the position of the vehicle in a first region (a means B range) set in the periphery of the target position. In a second region (a means A range) farther from the target position than the first region, the position detection device uses only second position detection means (means A) to detect the position of the vehicle. In an intermediate transition region (a means A+B range) set between the first region and the second region, the position detection device uses both of the first position detection means and the second position detection means to detect the position of the vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
