Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a position detection device capable of detecting position in absolute method and accurately measuring a long distance.
CONSTITUTION: A magnetostriction sensor S1 capable of detecting the absolute position of a permanent magnet 2 in absolute method and a magnetism sensor S2 provided with magnetic notches at a constant interval on a rod 10 are placed in parallel. The permanent magnet 2 and the rod 10 are fixed to each other. A correction means for correcting the value within the pitch region of the magnetic notches among the detected values obtained with the magnetic type sensor S1 using the value detected with the magnetism sensing type sensor S2 is also provided.
