Abstract:
To provide a position measurement technique which allows improvement in measurement accuracy of a walking position.SOLUTION: A position measurement device comprises: an angular velocity sensor 2 which senses a triaxial angular velocity varied by movement of an object person P who is an object of position measurement; an acceleration sensor 3 which senses a triaxial acceleration varied by movement of the object person; a coordinate transformation unit 5 which transforms the triaxial acceleration to global accelerations corresponding to a horizontal direction and a vertical direction of global coordinates C on the basis of a value indicative of turning obtained by the triaxial angular velocity; a step length estimation unit 6 which obtains an interval and a step length of one step in the global coordinates C on the basis of the global acceleration; a direction-of-walking estimation unit 7 which obtains a direction of walking on the basis of a value resulting of phase advance of the global acceleration in the vertical direction and a value of the global acceleration in the horizontal direction during the interval of one step; and a position estimation unit 8 which obtains a waling position on the basis of the step length and the direction of walking.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
