PURPOSE: To provide a positioning device for cylindrical article, which is totally automated without requiring human hand, of which the error for an adjusted position is small, and in addition, which can perform a positioning at a high speed.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of lines of pockets 10 which are arranged on one revolution circumference are formed in the axial direction on the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical turret 8 which intermittently rotates as a positioning device for a cylindrical article 17, in such a manner that the locations of the pockets 10 for respective lines may meet the axial direction of the turret 8. At the same time, a sensor 30 which detects a mark of the article 17 for respective lines of the pockets 10 being formed on the turret 8, and article-rotating units 25, 26, 27 which rotate the article 17 in the pocket 10, and at the same time, stop the rotation of the article 17 based on a detection signal of the sensor 30 are respectively arranged on the outside of the turret 8.
