To provide a positioning mechanism configured to slidingly move a component to be positioned in contact with a positioning tool without using a positioning driving mechanism of positioning the component to be positioned in contact with side parts as a positioning reference in a transfer device of positioning and transferring the component, and to provide the transfer device with the positioning mechanism mounted thereon.
The positioning mechanism includes the positioning tool having a notch-shape fitting part to which the component is fitted, an inner bottom side part being the deepest section of the fitting part, and inner side parts crossing both ends of the inner bottom side part, wherein the width of the notch-shape opening is larger than the width of the inner bottom side part. The component is fitted from the opening into the fitting part along the inner side parts, then, the outer edges of the component are horizontally brought in contact with the inner side parts and the inner bottom side part being the positioning reference, and then, the component is slidingly moved along the inner side parts and the inner bottom side part in the horizontal direction and positioned.
