Abstract:
To provide a positive electrode active material precursor for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, by which a positive electrode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, having a higher density can be formed.SOLUTION: Provided is a positive electrode active material precursor for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which comprises: a nickel cobalt manganese carbonate composite represented by the general formula, NiCoMnMCO(where x+y+z+t=1, 0.05≤x≤0.3, 0.1≤y≤0.4, 0.55≤z≤0.8 and 0≤t≤0.1, and M represents one or more additive elements selected from Mg, Ca, Al, Ti, V, Cr, Zr, Nb, Mo and W); and a functional group including hydrogen, wherein the substance amount ratio H/Me of the hydrogen H and a metal component Me included therein is less than 1.60. The positive electrode active material precursor includes secondary particles resulting from agglomeration of primary particles. The secondary particles have an average particle diameter of 15 μm or more and 45 μm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
