Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve electrochemical reduction ability of thionyl chloride used as active material and decrease deterioration of a positive electrode in high temperature storage by carrying polytetracyanoethylene metal complex on a positive substrate.

CONSTITUTION: In a positive electrode used for a nonaqueous solvent battery, polytetracyanoethylene metal complex is carried on a positive substrate such as porous carbon using acetylene black as a base. By using this positibe electrode, electrochemical reduction ability of thionyl chloride used as positive active material and electrolyte is improved, and performance deterioration in a long time of storage or in high temperature storage is prevented, and high rate discharge performance is increased in a nonaqueous solvent battery.
