Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a post-processing device providing superior operability of removing a jam without causing increase in the cost and the machine dimension and realizing high productivity relative to various sizes of sheets.
SOLUTION: This post-processing device is provided with a sheet carrier means receiving and carrying a sheet discharged from an image forming device, a sheet discharge means discharging the sheet carried by the paper carrier means onto a paper alignment tray, a paper alignment means aligning multiple sheets discharged onto the paper alignment tray, a post-processing means post- processing a sheet bundle aligned on the paper alignment tray, a temporary retainer means moving to such a position as retaining the sheet in the upper part of the paper alignment tray at a prescribed timing, temporarily retaining the sheet discharged onto the paper alignment tray by the paper discharge mean, moving in a position releasing the retaining of the sheet at a prescribed timing, and stacking the temporarily retained sheet onto the paper alignment tray.
