Title:
POSTRECORDING DEVICE FOR DAT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04129082
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To considerably reduce the number of frames having only subcode areas by discriminating the presence or the absence of an RF signal on a tape based on the RF signal obtained by a mask means. CONSTITUTION:A mask part 10 receives a signal RFEN from a RF detecting part 8 and a signal RFIN from a timing generating part 9 to generate a signal indicating the section, where the essential RF signal having no influence exists, as an output signal RFENV'. The signal RFENV' is inputted to an RF discriminating circuit 11 to generate a signal RFDT indicating the presence or the absence of the RF signal for every one rotation of a drum, and this generated signal is supplied to a microcomputer 12. The microcomputer 12 discriminates whether the postrecording operation should be stopped or not based on this signal RFDT and controls each part of a DAT system in accordance with the discrimination result. Thus, the maximum number of frames having only subcode areas which cause various troubles is reduced to one.
