PURPOSE: To make unattended operation feasible for charging a great number of clips into a magazine and to make therewith improve work efficiency by automatically making the clips in random postures assume a controlled posture and by making the clips in the controlled posture stored in the magazine.
CONSTITUTION: A great number of clips 1, each of which is made up in a U shape having a first leg 2 and a second leg 3 that are different in length with each other and are made in contact with each other at one end of the clip, are released one by one by centrifugal force or the like of a feeder 7, and are thrown one by one in random postures (four in total) into a guide section 12 of a posture-controlling device 6. The postures of the clips in the guide section 12 are detected with a sensor 13, and the clips are sorted in accordance with whether the opening end of the clips are directed frontward or rearward, and are led to each of leading passages 14a and 14b. Then the sorting is made in accordance with whether the short legs of the clips are directed upward or downward, and are discharged to discharge passages 16a and 16b after the clips 1 are turned around in posture-shifting passages 15-15d. The clips 1, controlled to assume desired postures, are then stacked and stored in a magazine 9.
