Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the powder applying effect by forming a nozzle opening section communicated with a powder feed pipeline and disposing a plurality of electrode pins provided with the resistance value for preventing sparks connected conductively with a high voltage generator in the nozzle opening section.

CONSTITUTION: Can bodies 3 with seam welded vertical joint sections are fed continuously from the upstream side on the left side in the drawing. On the other hand, a powder coating agent 17 fed together with carrying air is fed into a feed pipeline 6. Corona discharge is generated by high voltage applied from a high voltage generator 13 to an electrode pin 8 through an electrode rod 10 and a connecting pin 12 because of the potential difference between the electrode pin 8 and the can body 3. When the powder coating agent 17 is passed through the electric field, the powder coating agent 17 is charged statically to adhere to the can body 3. At that time, as the electrode pin 8 is disposed in a nozzle opening section 5, the powder coating agent 17 is charged sufficiently as the agent flows in the direction of moving forward.
