Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the subject powder coating material excellent in water repellency and water resistance without deteriorating high adhesivity to various substrates, high heat resistance and high mechanical characteristics by mixing an epoxy resin with a fluorine-containing (meth)acrylate resin in a melted state.

CONSTITUTION: (A) An epoxy resin having at least two glycidyl groups in the molecule and solid in room temperature is mixed with (B) a fluorine-containing (meth)acrylate resin in a melted state for homogeneously dispersing the component B in the component A in a fine particle state having particle diameters of ≤1μm and further mixed with (C) a curing agent for the epoxy resin to obtain the objective coating. The fluorine-containing (meth)acrylate resin is obtained by polymerizing a raw material containing a polymerizable monomer having a perfluoroalkyl group of formula I [X is H, Cl, F, methyl; Y is 1-4C alkylene, group of formula II (R is 1-4C alkyl, H; n is 1-4); Rf is 1-15C perfluoroalkyl] as an essential component and is substantially insoluble in the component A.
