To uniformize the density of a powder in a powder box before the start of an initial compacting in a powder molding method.
The powder molding method is carried out as follows: a powder is temporarily stored in a powder box having a volume capacity exceeding the cavity volume of a mold; the stored powder is fed into the cavity of a mold from the powder box; and the fed powder is compacted. In the method, when feeding the powder into the powder box before the start of compacting a molding, feeding of the powder is temporarily stopped and the powder box is vibrated before the volume of the powder in the powder box reaches a predetermined amount (steps (3), (8)). Consequently, the powder, which is deposited in a conical state due to its repose angle, is collapsed so that the powder is evenly deposited all over a powder box 20. After feeding of the powder is restarted and the powder amount in the powder box reaches a predetermined one (a step (10)), the powder is fed into a molding die from the powder box, so that the density of the powder in the powder box is uniformized before the start of the initial compacting.
