To obtain a powder pigment preparation which has a low fine-powder content, can be easily stirred and mixed into a synthetic resin dispersion and into plaster, and gives a coating material which is stable to flocculation and does not allow stripes or spots due to shading to appear.
This preparation contains the following: an org. or inorg. pigment; a compd. selected from among a novolak, a bisphenol polyglycol ether, an alkoxylated fatty alcohol, an alkoxylated fatty amine, an alkoxylated fatty acid, and an eserification and/or arylation product produced from a natural or modified castor oil compd., those compds. having been alkoxylated and, in some case, having repeating structural units linked with dicarboxylic diester groups; a water-sol. mixture of polyvinyl alcohol and vinyl alcohol or a water- soln. mixture of a vinyl alcohol copolymer; and if necessary other conventional additives.
