Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a powdered mold release lubricant for mold casting which can remarkably improve the heat retaining properties of a molten metal in sleeves and the heat retaining properties/flowability in cavities in mold casting by utilizing a gas generated by thermal decomposition as an adiabatic boundary layer between the molten metal and the mold.
SOLUTION: An inorganic powder which is thermally decomposed to generate a gas when brought into contact with a molten metal is used as the powdered mold release lubricant for mold casting.
