Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition capable of exhibiting hydration promoting function in a hydraulicity hardening process and converting a material such as an industrial waste into a reusable hardened product without baking, by subjecting a slightly water-soluble calcium sulfate and a water-soluble acid radical-containing compound in specific amounts, respectively, to combined treatment at a prescribed temperature and preparing powder having a specific particle size. SOLUTION: Slightly water-soluble calcium sulfate (CaSO4 .2H2 O) in an amount of 100 pts.wt. calculated as anhydride and a water-soluble acid radical- containing compound which is a powdery solid compound preferably shown by the formula Xa , Yb and shows pH <=6.5 in 10% water dispersion in an amount of 10-400 pts.wt. calculated as anhydride are subjected to combined treatment at <=300 deg.C and adjusted to powder having >=80% particles passing through a 65 mesh sieve. In the formula, X is one or more of an alkali (earth) metal, Al and Fe; Y is one or more acid radicals of (sulfurous) sulfuric acid, (nitrous) nitric acid and a carboxylic acid; (a) is the valence of the acid radical; (b) is the valence of a metal element.
