To provide a detergent composition with an excellent detergent performance and an extremely excellent solubility in use.

The invention relates to the powdery detergent composition for clothes characterized by comprising 1-40%.mass of a nonionic surfactant comprising a secondary alcohol alkoxylate composition represented by chemical formula (1), [the secondary alcohol alkoxylate represented by the formula, (in the formula, R1, R2are each an alkyl group, A is a lower alkylene group, n is an average of 1-50)], as an indispensable ingredient, 5-40%.mass of an anionic surfactant, and 20-80%.mass of at least one inorganic builders selected from a group comprising an aluminosilicate, a carbonate and a sulfate, as indispensable ingredients.
