Abstract:
PURPOSE: To previously find a follow generated inside the heaped powdery and granular material, and to eliminate the malfunction of a level measurement in regard to a level meter used for a hopper for storing powdery and granular material.
CONSTITUTION: Electrodes 3, 4, 5 are arranged with certain spaces in a hopper 1, and as powder and granular material 2 is heaped, electrostatic capacity thereof changes and increases. Signals A, B, C from electrostatic capacity meters 6, 7, 8 are input to a comparing unit 11 inside a computing unit 9, and previously measured normal patterns A', B', C' of the electrostatic capacity are input from a device 10, and they are compared with each other. In the case where they are different from each other, existence of a hollow H inside a heap of the powder and granular material 2 is judged, and an alarm unit 13 is commanded to output the alarm signal 15. At the normal time, since the level signal 14 is output from a level computing unit 12, a hollow inside the powder and grain material 2 is previously found to prevent the generation of a difference between the computed level value and a real level value.
