In this power assist device 10, when the worker feels un-comfortableness in the operation feeling, virtual mass m, virtual viscosity coefficient c, and virtual spring constant k can be varied in response to the taste of the worker by an inertial adjusting knob 60, a viscosity adjusting knob 61 and a rigidity adjusting knob 62 which are disposed on a side face of a controller 50. Thus, each worker can comfortably perform work using the power assist device 10 with an operation feeling in response to the taste of each worker. An operation of a gripping tool 40 is divided into an acceleration section R1, a constant speed section R2, a deceleration section R3 and a fine movement section R4, the virtual mass m, virtual viscosity coefficient c, and virtual spring constant k can be varied for each of the section R1-R4, and the operation feeling can be more finely adjusted.
