Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion apparatus which manages also an allowable load time rate of a power semiconductor in a regenerative braking circuit provided inside the apparatus, makes effective use of the power semiconductor, and further enhances performance of the power conversion apparatus.SOLUTION: A power conversion apparatus is configured to set a resistance value of a braking resistor that consumes deceleration rotation energy of a motor as heat energy through an operation panel mounted on the power conversion apparatus. Current passed through a regenerative braking circuit is computed from the set resistance value, and a loss produced in a power semiconductor in the regenerative braking circuit at the current value is determined. An allowable load time rate of the power semiconductor is determined from the produced loss.
