PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional power conversion device in which the stop frequency of the device is increased due to rapid variation or abnormality of a load, an erroneous operation caused by application of noise or the like and thus the applicable range of the device is restricted because the conventional power conversion device is configured so that it is detected on the basis of the relationship between the voltage between both the ends of IGBT and a control signal that the phase of output current of a resonance type inverter operating with a lagging phase becomes an advance phase, a protection circuit is immediately operated to prevent IGBT from turning on even when a next ON signal is output from a control circuit, and further the device is stopped.SOLUTION: A wide band gap semiconductor element is used as a semiconductor switch of an inverter circuit. When the phase of output current becomes an advance phase, it is detected on the basis of the relationship between the voltage at both the ends of the semiconductor switch and a control signal. When this detection is sequentially counted at plural times every switching operation, a next ON control signal is intercepted and prevented from being transmitted to the gate of the semiconductor switch.
