To provide a power converter with improved reliability.
The power converter includes: a switching element which converts DC power into AC power; a driving circuit which turns on/off the switching element based on a drive signal from a control circuit; and a signal transmitting unit (20) which transmits the drive signal from the control circuit to the driving circuit. The signal transmitting unit (20) is equipped with: a pair of coils (2 and 3) which are provided to face each other across an insulating member on a printed board (1) and are made of conductor patterns on the printed board; a first signal circuit (4) which is provided on the printed board (1) so as to apply the drive signal from the control circuit to one of the pair of coils (2 and 3); and a second signal circuit (6) which is mounted on the printed board (1) so as to detect a voltage induced in the other of the pair of coils (2 and 3).
