Abstract:
To provide a power conversion device capable of heating itself even during a period when a power supply cannot be used, a railway vehicle air conditioner, and a heating method.SOLUTION: A resistor 50 connected in parallel with a smoothing capacitor 40 for smoothing the current flowing through a power conversion circuit 30 is constituted by a heater which heats a circuit element constituting the power conversion circuit 30 and the smoothing capacitor 40. A control device 70 performs: a charge remaining control for remaining charge on the smoothing capacitor 40 by switching a discharge switch SW1 to an off state before the supply of power from a power supply AS to the power conversion circuit 30 is stopped; and a discharge control for discharging electric charge remaining in the smoothing capacitor 40 to the resistor 50 as the heater by switching the discharge switch SW1 to an on state before the supply of power from the power supply AS to the power conversion circuit 30 is restarted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
