Abstract:
To perform failure detection with a small circuit configuration.SOLUTION: A power cut-off device 1 is capable of failure determination for a positive potential switch 8 and a negative potential switch 9. A control circuit 11 directs the positive potential switch 8 and the negative potential switch 9 to be in an open state, directs a reference potential supply circuit 17 to supply electric power from a reference potential terminal 16 to a third terminal 19 and a fourth terminal 20, and detects potential of the third terminal 19 and the fourth terminal 20. The control circuit includes a determination mode for determining that the positive potential switch 8 and the negative potential switch 9 are able to respond normally to a direction from the control circuit 11 to be in the open state when potential of the third terminal is the same as the reference potential, and for determining that the positive potential switch 8 or the negative potential switch 9 is in a failure state according to potential values of the third terminal 19 and the fourth terminal 20 when potential of the third terminal 19 and the fourth terminal 20 is different from the reference potential.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
