Abstract:
PURPOSE: To separate a voltage from an outlet when the outlet is not used by a load by providing a means for detecting a plug in the socket of the outlet and a coupling means that is normally open between a power distribution line and the outlet. CONSTITUTION: A photodiode 11 emits electromagnetic radiation. The radiation is detected by a light receiver 12 when sockets 7, 8, and 9 are empty and is rejected by pins 13, 14, and 15 of a plug 10b that is inserted into an outlet 10a. Then, the light receiver 12 outputs a signal for indicating that electromagnetic radiation has been stopped due to the insertion of the plug 10b to the outlet 10a via a controller 16. As a result, a local control unit 25 operates an actuator 22 and connects the sockets 7 and 9 to a neutral line 2 and a phase line 4, respectively, by switches 29 and 30 that are normally open.
