PURPOSE: To facilitate the replacement of an electrode by providing a power feeding container having a wire electrode inserting hole and a conductive liquid housing part including a power-feed contacting recessed part which cuts off the inserting hole midway, a conductive liquid housed in the conductive liquid housing part, and a liftable discharged voltage feeding electrode which is immersed in the conductive liquid.

CONSTITUTION: A discharged voltage feeding electrode 3 is lifted up and down by means of a lifting device and, at the time of discharge machining, the electrode 3 is lowered and the liquid level of a conductive liquid 1 is lifted up filling a power-feed contacting recessed part 6-2 with the conductive liquid 1. As a result, the discharged voltage feeding electrode 3 can be electrically brought into contact with a wire electrode 2. At the time of replacing the wire electrode 2, as the electrode 3 is lifted up, the liquid level of the conductive liquid 1 is lowered exposing the opening part of a wire electrode inserting hole 6-1 which is opened in the power feed contacting recessed part 6-2. Then, a wire electrode 2-2 is inserted into the wire electrode inserting hole 6-1 and this insertion can be smoothly carried out since there is nothing in the way of insertion in its passage. That is, the replacement of the wire electrode 2 can be easily carried out without need for using any assisting tool.
