PURPOSE: To prevent leakage of the hydrogen storage alloy to equipment by composing a heat exchanger of a plurality of heat exchanging structures each having a medium communicator through which heating and cooling medium flows, a heat resistant vessel, a hydrogen gas outlet/inlet body, and hydrogen storage alloy charged in a space surrounded by the heat resistant vessel and a filter.
CONSTITUTION: A heat exchanger 11 is composed of a plurality of heat exchanging structures each having a medium communicator for flowing heating and cooling medium, a heat resistant vessel 31 arranged inside thereof, a hydrogen gas outlet/inlet body 32, a filter 33, and a hydrogen storage alloy. The filter 33 is composed of slender pipes long in an axial direction of the heat resistant vessel 31, through which hydrogen gas can pass while can not pass the hydrogen storage alloy 34 being in a powdery state. The hydrogen gas enters the filter 33 through the hydrogen gas outlet/inlet body 32. The coolant is flowed to the outside of the heat resistant vessel 31 during storage of the hydrogen gas. The hydrogen is stored in the hydrogen storage alloy 34 through the filter 33. Heating medium is flowed to the outside of the vessel 31 for releasing the hydrogen through the filter 33 from the hydrogen storage alloy 34.
