Abstract:
To provide the cogeneration of electrical and sterile water in an electrochemical cell including an oxygenation reaction (OER) anode and an oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) cathode, a method of electrolyzing water on the anode and converting oxygen into electricity on the cathode, and a self-contained water fuel facility that includes four subsystems for electricity and water cogeneration.SOLUTION: Both an anode and a cathode share an oxygen production reaction and an oxygen reduction reaction, the former consumes energy and the latter produces electricity. The cathode forms a load and the anode forms an electroforming circuit. The circuit requires clean water to supply oxygen as fuel. A built-in water purification device supplies clean water which is a raw material for all-water fuel cells.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
